Caroline Gregson

With a background in traditional basket making and a real passion for willow, I am driven to make pieces that challenge preconceptions about basketry.

Taking my environment as inspiration, I use form and vegetation lines to create willow tapestries that hint at earth core samples and which hold a memory of place.

I love sculpting with willow; the lines and swirls I create are evocative of 3D-sketches. The willow rods lend amazing movement and vitality to the form.
